WORKERS COMPENSATION

Falls

Falls are one of the most common ways to get injured while in the course of your employment.  Many of these claims involve “third-party” cases against a party who is not your employer.  For example, you fall on a floor in the washroom at work which has been freshly mopped by an outside cleaning service.  Or you are an IBEW electrician who trips over another sub-contractor’s debris on a work site.  Or you trip over an extension cord while attending a work seminar in Las Vegas.

Our firm concentrates on these types of cases because we handle both workers’ compensation cases and “third-party” cases.  Because of Mr. Grauer’s engineering background, he has the technical expertise to recognize such “third-party” cases.  The firm has the resources to hire and work with the architects and engineers often necessary to prosecute such claims.

Paul W. Grauer & Associates has been representing injured workers for over 35 years.  We will aggressively represent your rights so that you maximize your lawful benefits.  If you, a loved one or someone you know have suffered a serious or catastrophic injury, you should call our office for a free consultation to determine your rights.  You should not rely on what the insurance adjusters tell you, they work for the insurance company and are not looking out for your best interests.  There are no fees paid unless we obtain a recovery for you.

Lifting

Lifting accidents are common place work injuries. It can happen when a nurse is lifting a patient, a construction worker lifting building materials or a mechanic lifting a transmission, and it can cause serious and devastating injuries. The result can be a herniated disc in the neck or back, a rotator cuff tear, torn biceps or a myriad of other injuries which can be life changing and require the worker to change occupations. These claims are often denied by the insurance adjuster because they are among the most costly of claims.

Paul W. Grauer & Associates has been representing injured workers for over 35 years.  We will aggressively represent your rights so that you maximize your available benefits.  If you, a loved one or someone you know have suffered a serious or catastrophic injury, you should call our office to determine your rights.  You should not rely on what the insurance adjusters tell you, they work for the insurance company and are not looking out for your best interests.  We offer a free initial consultation, and there are no fees paid unless we obtain a recovery for you.

Repetitive Injuries

Repetitive injuries can be caused as a result of repetitive work such as factory assembly workers handling piece parts, meatpackers with cutting and slicing movements, bakery workers with repetitive kneading, office workers with repetitive keyboard use, hair stylists with repetitive cutting, among others.  Repetitive injuries can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome in the wrists, epicondylitis in the elbows and shoulder impingement or rotator cuff impingement in the shoulders.  It can lead to permanent injury and job change for the injured worker.

Often times repetitive injuries are denied by the insurance company claiming that it is not job related.  However, under Illinois law many repetitive injuries are found to be compensable based on the injured worker’s job.

Paul W. Grauer & Associates has been representing injured workers with repetitive injuries for over 35 years.  We will aggressively represent your rights.  You should not rely on what the insurance adjusters tell you, they are employed by the insurance company and are looking out for the insurance company’s best interest and not yours.

If you, a loved one or someone you know have suffered a repetitive injury, you should call our office for a free consultation to determine your rights.  There are no fees paid unless we obtain a recovery for you.

Traveling Employees

Our proximity to O’Hare and Mr. Grauer’s aviation experience as a pilot has led our firm to represent many aviation professionals, flight attendants, mechanics and ramp workers with their workers’ compensation claims.  There is a high concentration of aviation professionals in northern Illinois.  For example, United’s union contract provides that any flight attendant can file their workers’ compensation case in Illinois regardless of where they are injured or based.  Hence, we have represented many flight attendants and airline workers who reside throughout the continental United States.

Whether you are injured while walking to dinner at a convention in Houston, or while traveling to a branch office, you are probably entitled to workers’ compensation benefits.  Because Paul W. Grauer & Associates only concentrates in workers’ compensation and personal injury cases, you should call us for a free consultation as to your rights under the Illinois workers’ compensation law.  You should not rely on what the insurance adjusters tell you, they work for the insurance company and are not looking out for your best interests.
